kickstart a zombie invasion.
Long gone are the days when our imagination brought us the pleasure of pulverizing zombies to a bloody pulp, wielding any one of the makeshift weapons in our backyard. Well, the talented team at Massive Black has a bold vision to bring that nostalgic time back to gamers the world around. And they're looking for you, the gamer, to help make it happen.
In “Zombie Playground” - described as an “online, team based, action arena game with RPG elements” – your school is teeming with zombies and other monsters, and it’s up to you and your friends to make it out alive. While the genre draws on elements from childhood like comics and video games, it also is heavy on old fashioned blood-and-guts zombie gore. So while it might not be an ideal gift for your kid nephew, it should keep your adult bloodlust satisfied for weeks.
With a team of talented developers and artists, the finished product promises to be top-notch. Senior artist Jason Chan is not only the game’s original creator, but has also lent his talents to known game titles such as ‘Skyrim’ and ‘Mass Effect 3’. President Chris Hatala has been involved in notable titles including ‘Lord of the Rings: Two Towers’ and “Underworld”. As well, Erich Schaefer has played a big part in the wildly popular Diablo and Diablo 2.
Ultimately, whether or not ‘Zombie Playground’ becomes a reality depends on if they gather enough ‘backing’ (read: moolah) from supporting gamers out there. Starting at $15.00, being a backer can land you anywhere from a free digital copy of the game to being guest of honor at the MB 2012 Halloween Party in San Francisco. They have set their target date for Jun, 26, 6:00PM EDT. For more information about the game and how you can become a backer, check out their official KickStarter page:
